In the preceding section Jesus is specifically speaking to the disciples about themselves. Here He is speaking to the crowd gathered with them (see verse 1). He’s remonstrating with them that, because of their loss of spiritual focus, they will suffer judgment and family division. Judgment will come because most of them do not see the obvious signs of Jesus’ Messiahship. Family division will come because some will see it.
